#569 – Historic farm seeks manager in Glocester, RI (northwest):  40A, mostly in apple orchard, farmed by the Knight family for 150 years, is currently a pick-your-own enterprise with a breakfast restaurant and ice cream parlor.  Current owner has restored the 100-year-old trees in a three-year project and seeks a candidate with at minimum a BA degree or extensive (more than 5 years) experience in full time farming, preferably apple-farming, who is willing to work with the owner to realize an ambitious agenda of improvement, detailed at the website.  As compensation the candidate will receive housing, breakfast and lunch daily along with an agreed-upon salary.

#616 - Farm Share for Lease/Purchase:  33A farm located in Chepachet, RI (northwest).  This is an intentional community wanting a compatible organic vegetable/livestock farmer to work about 4A of field (recently used for Christmas tree propagation) of the 33A property.  Living and farming space is currently for rent with the potential to purchase a residential and/or farming share in a cooperative currently under development.  Purchasing a farming share gives the farmer a secure right to farm the land as a private business without having to purchase the land itself.  A tractor with several attachments, irrigation and shared barn space are on the site for use.  Our community vision statement is available on request.

#640 - Farm Land for Rent:  1-5A in Bristol, RI (east central).  Well drained agricultural land.  There are covered sheds for tools and equipment.  Town water supply, the fields have been used sporadically for organic garden crops for many years.  The fields are currently in pasture for horses.  Also, the Providence/Newport bus service stops within 100 ft of the property.

#685 - Undeveloped Land:  20A located in Pascoag, RI (northwest).  20A of woodland, can be logged and reclaim the land for farm use.  10A consists of rich prime farmland soil.  This parcel has a 2ft water table providing ample water in drought situations.  The water table for the other 10A has yet to be tested, presumably at a higher than 2 ft.

This is just acreage, there is a double driveway providing access.  This property is open for many possibilities to fulfill a dream of a farm.
